The year John and I got married we had an amazing Christmas. Since then we haven't really done much to celebrate the holiday, but now that Ashlynn's old enough to get excited, we decided to go all out. We got our Christmas tree a few days after Thanksgiving at the local Pinery and let Ashlynn help choose it. We didn't get home until about 7pm but John really wanted to put it up that night, as well as decorate it and the inside of the house. It surprised me at how long it takes to hang lights, ornaments and to wrap garland around the staircase but our efforts are enjoyed now daily. We even put a running train under the tree. Ashlynn calls it a choo choo and she and the cat just sit and watch it go round and round.
Two days later we hit the outside decorations, and again it is shocking how long it takes to hang lights. I think we spent a good three hours decorating outside. Our labors are rewarded and Ashlynn really seems to like it, and to pull ornaments off the tree. Next year John says he's going to the next level (the second story;D)
All we need now is some presents under the tree.
